Moments later, dressed in a surgical coat, she walked down the hall. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, and hoped that whatever had drawn her here would reveal itself.
She could only hope.
She felt Mera beginning to move and realized the sedative was fading quicker than she'd anticipated. "not good," she thought to herself. She couldn't risk Mera coming here. Couldn't risk Mera finding....
"Mera....", she heard faintly, the word brining her to a quick halt.
....what?....she thought as she hesitated and looked at the three doors nearest her. "Mera...why?" again the soft voice with pain etched in each syllable.
Each door, held a window. Each door locked. She peered into the windows, looking into the dimness of each room. At the second, she paused.
The hair, the coloring.... she inhaled sharply as she saw the woman seen in Mera's thoughts. Saw the woman, felt the pain that rolled through her.
"You there!" Came the call, she turned looking down the hall to the man heading her direction. "You there!" he repeated, "You're not to be there..."
"hmm...right," she said to herself, "then, I think....it's time."

Time.
Time that slowed and stilled around her. Time that rushed past the man that had called. Time that drew her in, hiding her from view.
From the soft cocoon of hidden time, she watched as the man ran down the hall, passed her and to the next corridor. He spun, looking back the way he'd come.
Moving steadily, with slow measured steps she returned the way she'd come. All in her mind, she knew she would be able to return, but knew the risks may be more than she could deal with. At least, for this moment.
As she passed through one of the unlocked side doors, she breathed a sigh, releasing the hold on time that had surrounded her. It was not something she did often, in fact, the last time had been at a party at the estate. She leaned against the wall, remembering in her mind Julee and Rico sitting with the others, how Okasan had brought her into the family in a way rarely allowed. Santiago in all but blood.
The footsteps running brought her attention to the door that had closed beside her.
"Mera", she whispered as she focused on her sister and teleported to her side.
