He woke slowly as he felt warmth nearby. His eyes opening as his senses reengage and reach out, blinking away the sleep his head turns to see a fire burning on a small ledge out of the waters. Beside it where fresh dry clothing, but there was no one in sight. What really began to draw him was the smell of meat as it cooks. He smiles to Reldai as she slowly wakes with him, kissing her softly he motions to the fire and they rise and go to it.
There was no note, nothing to indicate who had done this. The clothing left would fit them perfectly. He undressed, stripping down to nothing and then slipping the dry clothes on. Watching Reldai as she did the same. He grinned, and purred into her mind with a wink.
He sat down and saw that stew had been made for them. He sniffed at it and knew everything that was in it.
"I wonder who did this. Unless there is another people, I cannot see the Dalhria doing this and not staying to eat with us." he frowns lightly, remembering something, but it wasn't quite there again. He shook his head in frustration.
Handing her a bowl and spoon, then getting his own. He was famished, "mmm..this is good stew as well." his gaze shifting to her once in a while with a smile as they ate.
It was there again, something at the edge of his senses, but this time he did not try to find it. He simply let it be.
The First and Second watched from the darkness as they changed clothing and ate the food provided.
~::Tressel did well to choose::~ the Second sent to the First, the First nods in reply ~::She always does well. It is why she has been chosen::~
The journey would begin as they searched for the path home

Reldai flushed pink at the complement he'd paid her, even as she hastily slipped on the clean clothing. She was ravenous and eagerly took the bowl. A soft sigh of contentment passed her lips as she took the first bite.
"hmm...this is nice," she said softly. Eating slowly she had a thought, "What are...is...Dalhria?" She wondered especially in light of the images she'd seen on the walls.
Ash would love to explore here, she also thought. He loved rocks and stones. As she settled back to eat, she kept an appraising eye on Je'raith wondering if it were possible for anyone to be happier than she was just being with him.

He supposed it was time for them to be spoken of. Dragonkind had been silent of their creators long enough and he finished the bowl that he had and sat back.
"The Dalhria are those that created my kind. They were here thousands of years before they set about to create my kind, but they did not come from here. They came from another planet where they were unable to conceive children and their lands were ravaged by war."
he took two cups and bent over the edge beside him where the river ran and rose back up with two glasses of fresh water, handing Reldain on, taking a sip of the other before he continued.
"Dragonkind has no spoken of the Dalhria since they disappeared after the war and plague that killed the humans. I think Dragonkind has forgotten that we are created beings. Because they have not been spoken of I can only recall my ancestor's memories of them. They treated us as equals, even though we are here because of them. They taught our kind and allowed us to grow and expand our knowledge. We lived in harmony with them."
he sighs softly, taking a second bowl of stew and taking a few bites. he suddenly remembers to tell you something, "Before I left, the shield around Ash's mind was strengthened. Galventh and Arlianth, they are Aer'alyn's Sire and Dam, they are with your people. They will find a way to help him. He is in good hands." He doesn't speak of Sahira though. If he'd been any other dragon, she would have been eaten, then spit out because she is too bitter.
He pushes the thoughts of yesterday away, he was happy in this moment; In the moment last night when the joining took place. He remembers it, but it was.. different. He had never seen or heard of it happening before in the history of this world. But that didn't matter, it felt good. He smiles to Reldai. His hand reaching up to wipe some food from the corner of her lips, then he takes a few more bites of his own bowl and drinks the water.
The First and Second were joined by the Third, they watched. They waited. The time was drawing near, it was closer than any wanted it to be. Were they ready? Was this world ready?
Only time could answer that question.

That took some digesting.
She listened carefully, nodding in understanding, though it surprised her that he was a created being. Strange, she'd never quite put the two facets of his life together. He was just..who he was.
It was a bigger smile that crossed her lips as he touched the corner of her mouth, his fingertips earning a kiss as they did.
She was relieved when he spoke of her people. He knew she'd been wondering, but she also knew, he would not have come for her had they been anything but safe. "Thank you my dear..." she smiled at him.
It was only when he swallowed another drink of water did she lean to him and kissed him gently.
As she settled back down, "What is this war you mentioned. And plague?" She frowend, "I don't remember hearing about a plague."

He knew it was a lot, but perhaps it was not just him who needed to remember and understand the truth of what happened. He smiles as she leans in, holding that kiss for a moment longer than she had planned. "You're welcome my Love"
as she settles back down he wraps an arm around her and pulls her close. He knew they would have to go soon, but he wanted to enjoy the warmth the fire provided a little longer.
"There were actually two wars. The first was when our kind and the Dalhria were enslaved. I see the images left on the walls and realize it never should have happened. As it was told to me, the humans befriended Dragon and Dalhria. Then hundreds of years later for no reason they attacked us and enslaved those that did not escape or die." He gives the short version. He has not been to the Great City where Nraith has served as keeper, but he knows in greater detail the wars are shared there. "I realize now that some of our kind had planned to do to them as they then done to us and had already started. Both sides had started. It was ok for the humans to, but took offence when the Dragon did the same thing."
He shook his head in disgust. Did Nraith know? Or was it hidden from those who still live now of his kin?
He continued with the short version, "We lost that war, 2 seasons and it was over. Dragon and Dalhria were no match for the humans. But we did not give up. Some of my kind managed to stay in hiding. One in particular, an old wizard of a dragon, a powerful mage. He was sought out by 10 Riders and their dragons. He knew a way to preserve Dalhria, Human and Dragon."
He stops and looks to Reldai a moment, "Did you know that we were not created with the ability to shift?" After throwing that rock out there he continued with the story to explain why he just said that, "The 10 Dragons, 4 Dalhria and 6 humans sought this dragonmage out and he joined each rider to his or her dragon. He never spoke about how it was done. Those to whom it was done didn't even know. It is said that the Old Dragon had made friends with a human family, and it was with the Male adult of that family he joined as well. But no one knows because he is no longer around that we know of."
he takes a breath and a drink.
They watched, the Three. Within the air they sent a sense of need to start to move and to journey out of the depths. To Je'raith and Reldai it would feel more like an inner feeling, something that just came to them. That it was getting late as though night and day had meaning in the depths.
Je'raith smiles gently, "I think we should go now. If we get too comfortable we may never want to leave." He chuckles softly and kisses her gently again before rising up and helping her to her feet. He was about to put the fire out, but didn't know how it got there to begin with, so he decided to leave it. Whoever set it up for them would return to retrieve the things that were here.
He rolled up their wet clothes and then with his shirt he created a sort or pack to carry them in and set it on his back. It was light, but there it was out of the way and a change of clothes was nice to have around.
The Third slipped away, moving a distance down the tunnel, leaving two walking sticks, but they were left in a way that they seemed to belong there. The crystals in the stone seemed to have an internal light and conveniently two were tossed aside a few feet from the sticks.
The First and Second were notified when it was completed. They would use Tressel to monitor their progress. They watched as the two began to walk, hand in hand ~::The journey has begun::~ The Three and Tressel all shared with each other in unison.

"Yes," she murmered, though she really wanted to spend more time with him. How perfectly suited was this place to get to know of him, and he of her. Away from the hustle and noise of everyone else, she found herself enjoying this more than she had words.
"So, you mean the two..the dragon and his rider became one?" Without thought she picked up one of the walking sticks and glowstone, watching him as she spoke. "So much happened, and we...who we are...came in the middle of it. Innocent people caught in the crossfire, and yet...some found their own ways of hurting and destroying."
She stepped down the path with him, saying with sorrow in her voice, "How terribly sad. It semeed as if ...most..forgot who they were, the good part of themselves and lived to hurt. Yet, had that not happened, I would never have met you."

He too picked one of each up and looking at the top of his walking stick he noticed it was a little different and looked at the stone and chuckles, setting the stone on top, hooking it in to keep it there. He wondered at this. It did seem strange, but for now he let that thought go.
Nodding to your question, "Yes, they became one. And so came out ability to shift as they mated with each other and formed clutches, so those of us that can shift came from these 10 dragons." he listened to the rest, nodding, "Yes, though you came later, after the second war. You see after the joining they infiltrated pockets of the human council. They learned of plans to find the ones that had escaped and destroy them. There was one in particular who died at the beginning of the war. He alerted the rest of our kind to this plot, and on the day it was to happen it back fired and a second war was started. It didn't last long either. We should have lost this one as well, but some disease that would affect only humans spread like a wild fire through their population. Those of our kind who were both human and dragon got severely sick, but they survived as did their eggs. When your people came it was 500 years later, but my kind are stubborn and have a long memory. Because you looked like them, we feared you and hated you at the same time. Vowing not to allow the same thing to happen some banded together, formed an "elder council" and allowing you to live, they would show you that they would not become slaves again"
he frowns softly, "But we are slaves Reldai, can they not see, we have become slaves to our own hate" it tore at him inside. He could understand now why Aer'alyn and Nraith fought against it. And knowing now what he did, he would fight as well.
Her words sink in as he pulls you close. "There are some good things that have come from the last few hundred years. You, my Light, are definitely one of them." his arm wraps around as he pulls her close and kisses her softly and tenderly. He breaks the kiss and holds her gaze for a few moments before he guides her to start walking again.

She nodded, "yes, hate ...blindness, does make ones slave to themselves." She thought of Sahira as she spoke, hoping the woman would learn. She was, however, stubborn and....well, blinded.
She sighed as she pondered the thoughts, continuing to pace alongside Je'raith. They'd passed the last of the images she'd see, the cavern walls becoming too rocky to hold images. Gesturing to them, "Do you think there are others, somewhere down here?" The gesture, accompanied as it was by the walking stick drew her attention to it. "These are very useful, have you ever seen the like?"
She kept up an idle chatter, but her mind held their own questions. She'd remembered clearly what happened the other night. Just the thought sent tingles through her body. She felt...different inside. She knew, from what he'd already told her, theirs was an unusual ..pairing. As it was, she couldn't help but smile at the memory, the sensations that passed through her. The feeling she had of him so completely in and through and around her.
The memory caused her to stumble slightly as her knees became weak. Even though he was at her side, it felt as if he were warming her insides. As if, he were in her muscles and bones, part but..wholly himself.
Trying to distract herself, she spoke again. "The people we came from..they too had wars. They sent us away in hopes to keep a part of the people alive. At least, that is what we have believed. So many things we do not know of ourselves."

He looked at the images as they passed them, making note of them, remembering the tales that were told of when her people came to this world.
Pausing slightly at your question, tilting his head, looking around, thinking a moment, "Well It is very possible, especially considering we did not light that fire or make the stew that was left, or provide clean clothing. Someone is down here. It would be nice to know who and how many though."
He could see the emotions on her face and in her eyes, feel it from her as she went through the events of the other night, through the moments of their joining and smiles. He thought of it as well, but he held his physical reactions in check, for this was not the time and if he allowed his passion to swell up as he wanted it to, it would be a few days before they started moving again.
He saw you stumble and reached out to catch you, holding you up, wrapping his arm around your waist, "You're ok?" he was genuinely concerned, though he figured out the reason for it pretty quickly.
Nodding to your words of your people, speaking softly as he walks along side you again, "And so much that we believe about ourselves and our people that are simply not true."

She chuckled softly as he grasped her gently, keeping her upright. He could feel the tingles of her skin at his touch and the smile that lit her eyes warm to him.
"hm...perhaps, because they know what we were like...well, the humans and your ancestors, perhaps they do not wish to show themselves. How to they know that..." she gave a half wave to the images, "is not still the norm?"
She thought it was as good a reason as any to not say, 'hello, here we are.'
As they continued to walk she asked, "Who do we tell? Finding this, knowing the truth. Who do we tell first?" And...she wondered, how would this affect taking the others to the great ocean?

He did feel it and it only made his desire for her stronger, but this was not the time - soon she would know and feel everything he felt for her.
Her words brought him back to the now and the situation they found themselves in. Pausing as this tunnel parted into two different directions. He looked into each, thinking a moment,
"I don't think so. Before we came together, I could feel something at the edge of my senses. Like they were there the whole time watching me. I think they know exactly what is going on up on the surface, and I think they are part of the reason things are going to change. I don't know why, but that is what my senses are telling me." ((ooc resisting the urge to put "spidy" before senses lol))
He focused first down the tunnel to the left, stepping towards it and extending the staff into it to shine the light from the crystal as far as it would go and as bright as it would go. He could see steps leading upwards, but was unsure how far they went. He didn't sense anything unusual towards the entrance.
He did the same for the other tunnel, and while the path did not have stairs going up there was a steady incline upwards that seemed not to stop. he could feel no danger and the air seemed fresher. Taking her hand, he lead her into that tunnel, "This way" he wasn't positive, but how could you be in a place like this that you didn't know exsisted.
He pondered her question and smiles, Shrugging softly, "I don't know Beloved, I simply don't know" he gave her hand a squeeze, his senses alert and keeping watch for anything that may come.
The First and Second watched and listened to the two. Sharing information with each other, and the others.
Another did not appear, but shared with them some news. The First nods to the Second and then turns, disappearing into the darkness. There were somethings that needed to be done.

She was half inclined to head up the stairs, but all things being equal, would it really make a difference? With a soft chuckle at herself, she continued with him.
As they walked she felt a change in temperature, moisture beginning to glisten upon her skin. Was it slightly warmer or just a natural effect from walking?
The sides of the cavern became more and more smooth, as if they had been scraped and smoothed from the rough edges. The crystals so predominate before had grown less and less as they walked. As she noticed this, she reached down, scooping a bit of crystal into her hand. She'd give this to Ash.
Ash.
She sighed softly, realizing she'd been so caught up in what had been happening, she'd not worried about him. But he was ok. She knew that. He would be ok. Again, he could hear her soft sigh.

He wasn't sure how long they had walked, but he was starting to get hungry. He didn't say much, he simply enjoyed her presence and just being with her. He'd wished though they'd had a way to transport the stew with them, but there was no way.
As the walls smoothed out he pause and let one hand move over the side of it. As it moved over it he noticed that for all the apparent smoothness in parts it seemed something was carved into it. He held the crystal to it and as he did letter began to light up. He had never see this before.
"I wonder what language this is" he had a pretty good memory. He could look at writing and remember it exactly but he rarely used it. Today though it would come in handy. He moved along the wall looking at each stroke and line and dot, each mark, remembering it. How did he even know it was a language? Well it was not so random as some might think looking at it. And it seemed familiar though he didn't know why. As he came to the end he pondered it a moment, pausing in his step, then shrugging and moving back along side you.
They came around a corner and there was a fresh water underground stream. Well water would be good enough. He moved to it, "Lets drink and rest a bit" and began to lift the water to his lips. His eyes following the stream as far as he could in the dark, wondering it perhaps they could follow the stream at all.

She smiled as she saw the water and inhaled deeply. "oh..how fresh it smells....clean.." She closed her eyes, tipped her head back and inhaled again. She could smell the rocks and air, but above all the crispness of the water.
As he knelt, bringing a taste of water to his lips, she also knelt to dip her fingers in the water. Cold. Crisp. She let her hand move lightly though the water, letting it swirl and splash against her skin. " I think so," she said softly as she stripped to her undergarments. The clothing they'd been given, she folded up and tucked in the other clothing. It would not stay totally dry, but nor would it be soaked, she hoped with a soft chuckle. But, really, at this point...it could stay soaked and she could care little.
She stepped into the water, cautiously moving forward until she could feel the underwater shelf edge at her toes. So cold it brought tiny bumps of chill to her skin. Still she smiled and with a thought turned to grab the walking stick. A moment later, she dipped the end into the water, smiling even more brightly as the glowstone stayed bright beneath the water, reminisent of the glow she'd seen during the earthquake.
Peering over her shoulder at him, she gave a wink..a smile..and stepped off. A moment later she was beneath the water. He could see the glow beneath the water, watching it fade in the distance as he saw her shape move and disappear beneath the wet surface. A minute later she returned, breaking the surface of the water with a smile.
"Come...swim with me," she said softly, holding her hand out to him. It appeared as if she dropped five years of age within the water. Her eyes sparkled as much as the droplets of water that fell to the surface and glistened from the glowstone.

He drank as he watched her undress and dive into the water. Grinning softly as he could feel the exhileration she felt. He realized they couldn't be more different at this moment, it didn't bother him at all, but the exhileration she felt is what he felt in the midst of the fire or in flight. He ached for the heat, but suppressed it for now - he would feel it's touch soon enough.
He stripped as well, doing the same thing with his clothing as she had with hers, grasping his wakling stick he paused a moment, then using some tough rope he'd found he secured the walking stick to the clothes, then placed it on his back before entering the water.
He swam over to her, taking hold of her and pulling her close then as he gazed into her eyes he kissed her. As he broke the kiss he pushed her under with a laugh and swam over top heading downstream, pausing only to turn and wait for her, following the light below the surface.
