He nods softly, his hand absently caressing her hair, "perhaps" he was still unsure but it would be worth a try anyway. He turns to kiss her head and sighing softly. Part of him didn't want to leave, atleast not yet, but he knew they had to.
"Lets go" He kisses her again, whispers against her lips a promise, "I will show you soon just how much I do love you Reldai, my mate, my love, my life" kissing her again as a hand rises to caress her cheek before he gets up and helps her up.
Using one of the bowls to put the fire out, he puts his pack back on his back and helps hers, then taking her hand he starts towards the middle tunnel that leads upwards. He pauses though as he reaches it, looking again to the one to its left, another that goes up. He decides on the one she picked, but before they reach it out of the corner of his eyes he catches a glimpse of movement and at the edge of his senses he feels it again.. his head turns to the right.....
No no no, not either of those silly dragon! Tressel watched, she knew moving would get their attention and she hoped that they would follow. She moves and he indeed sees the movement as she notes the turning of his head. Pausing just enough for Reldai to see as well, then she moves through the tunnel that would seem to not move upward immediately. Her soft footfalls can be heard, intentionally so. Pausing once she is far enough that to see her they must follow, she looks back to ensure that they are.
He shakes his head, "Lets follow her" he did notice it was female, and the presence while not the same as what he felt before was similiar. Still holding Reldai's hand he goes to the tunnel she disappeared into, pausing at it's entrance, "Where did she come from?" he looks about the entrance, there was only a small hole in the wall and it didn't seem to come or go anywhere. Shrugging he goes down the tunnel, the crystal on the staff lighting up around them showing that indeed it does go up, but ever so slightly. He sees the girl pausing at the bend, "Hey Wait!" he calls out to her and moves a little faster to try and catch her.
Tressel hears the call, but she does not wait, only glimpses of her are seen far ahead of them as the turned one bend she would just disappear around another until the tunnel opened up to another cavern, then she would fall back into the ancient paths once more, hidden from them both.
The tunnel would get narrow enough that they could not hold hands and he would lead the way in case there was a surprise around the corner. As they reached the top and it opened up he did see the girl had disappeared again, stopping to look around he could see they were above the cavern on a ledge. Below was one of those deeper pools. He saw now that two paths joined there, but ended in a deep slope that went into the pool of water.
"I think I'm glad we didn't take those other paths" he could sense another life form in this cavern, taking her hand, "Can you feel it?" He motioned towards the water, "It's deep below the surface right now, but it's there" he gives her hand a squeeze. He was troubled though he didn't know what it was that troubled him. His brow furrows as he looks ahead along the ledge pathway ~we need to get out of this cavern~ then started moving carefully along the ledge towards another tunnel. It was a shorter one, and after seeing how those other two ended, he would move much more cautiously now.
Tressel watched again, yes, it was there, deep below the surface. It was hungry too, it ate, but only ate fish that got trapped or others of it's kind that found it's way into the chamber pool. And the odd One that did not watch were they went. She saw they moved more cautiously, good, lesson number one.

"Yes. of course," she replied as he motioned to the girl that darted before them and disappeared so quickly. "Yes..." she gave a slight laugh as she tightened her hand on his and kept up with his fast walk through the tunnel.
The fast walk turned into a near run as the tunnel narrowed. His stride easily outstretching hers, she paused, turning the glowstone behind her even as he continued. The light faded into darkness. Nothing behind, only ahead.
She shifted the light to her other hand and began to run, catching up with him as he hesitated at the ledge. Panting slightly from the run, she nodded as he motioned downward.
"I think...' she began, then shook her head as he began to slowly make his way forward. Again, she shifted the light, putting it back again in her right hand. "Be careful, my love." she whispered, even as she followed and tried to look around him to whatever ...whoever it was they were following.

They reach the other side of the pool and as he looks down he could see something reaching out of the water. Did it know they were there? He didn't have time to ponder that question when he saw a tendril reaching up. He didn't wait, but takes a hold of Reldai and pulls her ahead of him into the tunnel and to safety as the tendril wraps around air at the spot where she once stood.
He takes a breath, "Ok, remind me, when I feel them below to not ponder or hesitate. It's clear that they can feel our presence." he wondered on that, but it would not be for today. He wraps his arms around her and hugs her tightly. He was trembling slightly. Kissing her softly, "Come on. It looks like a steep climb ahead"
He holds the staff now in his hand and the crystal glows brighter with a few words from him revealing steep hand carved steps going up, but how far he couldn't see. His senses went ahead of them as he let Reldai go first and he could not tell how high they went, this was a bother to him.
Tressel remembered how she was told they could sense other life forms, and though she had never experienced it this time it confirmed what she had heard. She watches them moving now up the stair. She knew his senses were less than what they would normally be, but how would he respond to it?
In her watching of him, she remembers that he has gone a long time without fire and she knew it would only get worse. She had to help, somehow, but not before they found the ancient caverns. They would be the first to know everything.

"I'll remind you", she said softly as her arms tightened around his trembling form. A deep feeling of love swept through her, the emotion drawing a soft gasp from her. His kiss was sweeter than before, and she lingered in his embrace, fingertips touching his cheek gently.
"I...", she began, but then smiled, gently kissing him again before she moved ahead of him.
The muscles in her stomach tightened even more as she moved up the steps.
She hesitated and closed her eyes for a moment, another deep breath. It seemed as if the air around them pulsed with energy. Behind her, he could feel her trembling increase, her breathing quicken. Another step and she reached the top, the steps narrowing before widening into a great room.

He tilts his head as she begins to say something then starts up the stairs ahead without finishing. He tilts his head softly ~Yes my Love?~
He starts after her only a one step behind her, the light on his staff shining ahead of them. The climb was steep, and felt like it went on for hours, but they were moving quickly.
When she hesitates he pauses as well, feeling her tremble he grows concerned. He could feel the energy. When they reach the top he slips his arm around her waist. The great room was indeed great. It was a room of legend in size. Columns going down the middle towards another exit that seemed too great a distance to travel in one day, yet he knew they would reach the other end in only a short time.
His attention was caught by what seemed a flicker of light and before moving to it he reached out with his senses. Once he feels it's safe he moves towards it and enters a small room on the side, there on the walls many more drawings and words in a language long dead. His eyes light up burning almost red/black for a brief moment as he begins to read what is drawn on the walls, the words coming to him as though he had spoken this ancient language all his life.

She kept silent as he paused by her. Her breathing seemed shallower than it normally was, as if the air was gradually being drawn out of her. She felt ok, she felt....something. His arm was tight against her before he slowly released her and moved to the antechamber.
As she followed, she slowed her steps looking carefully around before she entered the room after him.
His concentration spilled over her and she leaned against another column, watching as he read. The images, the words, were all unknown to her and faint trickle of water slowly caught her attention. She perked up, looking around then smiled as she saw a small pool of water at the far end of the room.
She sound began to meld over her as she neared, kneeling down to touch the flickering surface, "oh....." she breathed a soft sigh as she let the water trickle over her fingers, turning her head just to catch sight of him. The water shook from the emotion that pounded through her. A depth of emotion that with a sharp thrust sucked the oxygen from her lungs. She gasped, drawing in a quick breath.
"we really are...", she thought silently to herself as her gaze continued to linger on him.

He continued to read, but he could feel the sound of her heart beat, it was as though she was inside of his own chest. He takes a breath and lets it out slowly before looking away to where he sees her moves. He sees the water and smiles He could feel the depth of emotion as it was as deeply formed within him as well.
He turns back to finish reading that part, then moves towards her and kneels beside her, taking her hand in his, "Shall we rest here for the night?" it was such an odd question being that they really didn't know if it was night or day outside. His eyes meeting hers, smiling looking deeply.
Tressel watched with a grin, she stayed within the ancient tunnels hidden from those who were blind of mind and unable to see them. But she watches, soon they will see them. Well he will, she wasn't sure of the woman, but they seemed to be in sync with each other. she knew them to be mates by the feelings and emotions that occasionally erupted from them.
She knew they couldn't stay in this room, and she steps from her spot and slips into the light of the room pausing only a moment to be seen before exiting the chamber and moving out and down along the wall a little ways before disappearing into another room.
He caught her pause out of the corner of his eye and before could turn she was gone. "Come on, she's here again"
He didn't let go of her hand, but started out of the chamber and pausing to look and see her disappear into another room. He didn't run as fast or break into his full stride as they went down along the wall and turn into the other chamber. There a fire had just been started, fish and meat were left. He raises a brow.
"Well isn't this a surprise." It really wasn't a question, and it was a surprise, but at the same time it wasn't. Beside the fire were two rolls laid side by side to sleep on. There was also another small pool. it seemed this was an actual sleeping chamber at one time. And again more writing on the walls. He moved to the fire though hungry rather than interested in the writings for now.
"Shall we eat and rest for a few hours?" a soft smile filled with all the love he was feeling at that moment.

She'd gently touched his cheek as he knelt beside her. Her words stilled in her throat as he caught sight of the figure. Words stilled but her hand tightened upon his as he began to chase the form.
As they entered the other room, noticing the food, she began to laugh softly. "Not a surprise," she said through her chuckle. It was only when he looked deep into her eyes, feeling the joined love they had for each other that her mirth quieted.
"I'm not hungry," she whispered as she gently reached up to wrap her arms about his neck and rest her lips upon his. Well, she was hungry, but fish was not going to do it. "I love you", she whispered against his lips before she tightened her arms about him and came to rest her cheek against his chest. She felt his heart thumping, felt her own and realized they were beginning to keep time with each other. Their heartbeats had become one.

He grins softly, no he wasn't surprised either. His arms slid around her waist as she held tightly to his neck. His breath caught in his throat at the feel of her so close to him. He wasn't hungry for food either and to feel her so close, her lips on his it was enough. He whispers back "I love you too" he felt her heart beat and knew before that they now beat in time as she lay her head to his chest. Now though it was time to quicken that heart beat.
He lifts her chin to look into her eyes, drawing her closer to him, holding her tightly he kisses her hard as his hand holds her cheek gently. He could not wait any longer to show her his love for her. Turning and laying her under him he releases her lips to gaze with a deep insatiable love into her eyes before kissing her again. Slowly he would remove her clothing and his own would also be discarded as they would now and forever become one not just in soul, but in spirit also.
Tressel watched only for a moment. she smiles as the passion and love take over. She had seen it was building for a while and she chuckles softly to herself, a soft whisper of words not spoke since the coming of the Dalhria and the light of the crystal dims so that the only light present is that of the fire they lay near. She fades back into the ancient paths, she will return when they are ready to continue
So caught in his love for Reldai he failed to notice the dimming of the light from the crystals.

meanwhile........
.....as the night faded and morning would rise......
Food was not to be denied, neither below the surface or above.
Ash, tucking his chin upon his knees looked out over the valley. The water having begun to settle, it was now a slow moving path that flowed from the mountain to the great ocean beyond.
It seemed like days. He'd been good. He'd listened to what he was told. But, he missed them. He missed Rikki. He missed Reldai......

... Morning had come, but how could he know it was morning? He felt more rested than he had in a long time. A smile crept across his face as he watches Reldai sleep next to him. He caresses her cheek, then kisses her softly so as not to wake her as he rises and gets dressed. The fire was still going, it seemed their 'friend' was still helping out. He appreciated that more now than ever.
He starts to cook something to eat for both of them as he settles down to watch over his sleeping mate and the cooking food.
His thoughts turn to Ash and the others. He hoped they were alright. ::Ash:: he waits for a response as his thoughts drift.
On the surface Galventh and Arlianth had managed to get the group moving again and they had gotten past the waters that had taken Reldai deep below the surface. It seemed the Link was quiet these last few days, but Galventh wasn't sure that was a good thing.
He had been enjoying getting to know these humans and especially Ash. Arlianth and Nycia seemed to be getting along just fine, which he was glad for. Too often his mate had willingly remained with him when she could have gone other places, this was good for her and him as well.
He moves to Ash and sits beside him wrapping an around the boy's shoulder, "how are you feeling today Ash?" gentle green eyes looking to the boy with a smile.

Reldai curled up more comfortably upon the bedding, watching Je'raith as he finished the cooking. This was a fair change from everything she'd experienced in her life. One, she was rather relishing. He looked..... she laughed softly, the sheer happiness she felt easily felt in the air around them. Sitting up, she smiled at him. "good morning love." He could feel the relaxation she felt, the constant tension and anxiety he'd felt in her gone. The look on his face brought another smile as she rose and gently kissed his cheek. A brush of her hand against his hair bespoke how she felt. "What can I do?" She asked, though it looked like everything was in order. **** Ash smiled at Galventh. "I am ok." He gave a little shrug, his mouth quirking into a bit of a frown. "I feel tired today. Do we have to go far?" He looked up at Galventh and rested his head against the others arm. "It seems so long. I know it hasn't been, but....are they ok? I just want to be...." He looked down, again tucking his knees to his chin. "I just don't feel very good." He didn't want to be a complainer, Rikki always complained enough for the both of them. But he missed her. He missed Reldai. He wanted to be home.

He grins as she smiles, kissing her back, "mmm.. Good morning" came a hungry growl, "I think I have everything taken care of, including you." Kissing her again, then he uses the bowl to dish out some food for her and hands it to her, taking another and getting himself some food and sitting back.
Looking around, seeing the different paths out he thinks on where to go next, at the same time he takes in the drawings on the walls. "Well I wonder what will be in store for us today" He took some bites and then marked the wall once again as he did with the other chambers they'd traveled through.
Galventh nods to Ash, he could tell the boy was weaker and he was concerned. He wondered what was making him so sick. they had made the link to Rikki all but mute, but still the boy seemed to get worse. He thought on some of the things that Nraith had shared about this village and the one that ran it. He wondered. Did she do something that was slowly killing the boy?
He smiles to Ash, "Yes they are alright. I can feel their presence on the link, but for whatever reason that is all I can do. You will see them again, that is a promise." at the question of how much farther, he knew it was at least a 2 days more travel, "We still have a fair distance, but how about you ride on my shoulders?" looking to Ash, hoping he liked the idea. Arlianth would be back soon from her scouting ahead with exactly how much longer.

She chuckled soflty as she ate, watching him look at the walls. Just being in his presense make her feel a hundred years younger. "hmm," she hummed to herself before she set the bowl down and moved to take a closer look. "So many seem to repeat, yet...this one....and this." She pointed to some images, "I don't remember seeing these." The small figure seem balanced on what appeared to be rays of some sort. ***
Ash gave a watery smile to Galventh, hopeful though his tone was. "Really, can I?" The excitement was evident, though it seemed to drain him of what energy he had built up. He drew in a breath, blinking back tears. He didn't want to complain, he didn't want to cry. But it was so hard not to. He turned his gaze back to the water, and for a moment a look of pure longing was seen in his eyes.

He set the bowl down, nodding, rising to join her, "Yes, and this one here" pointing to another of being that seemed to stand between two pillars or walls. He tilts his head, looking over it. There were no words of ancient text on these walls, they were all drawings.
As his eyes move over the image before him he notices that the image has some of the same drawings. "Ok, this is odd" The two on either side of the being were different than the normal. "This one seems to be of a part of this room, but that one seems to be of another room. They could be clues to showing us where to go next."
Tressel watches again, she smiles as she does, yes, she thought, keep along those thoughts Je'raith. You must find the way.
Galventh nods, "yes really. I would be honored" he'd even take him for a ride when it was his turn to scout ahead. He watches Ash and notices that moment of intense desire and longing, he could taste it and gives Ash a little nudge, "Wanna go for a swim with me?" He wasn't sure what to do with the boy, but if this would help him he would do it, hugging him gently.
He wanted to send out a plea for help for the boy, but who would come? The Blacks? Or worse - Gelithron. Otherwise he would be ignored. He didn't know enough about this people to know what to do.
He looks across the horizon ::What lies ahead?:: to Arlianth he calls, ::It appears to be good for now. No thieves or hunters ahead. The earthshakes and extra water seemed to have scared them away.:: he could see his mate coming now as she moved around the mountain ::Good, we will start soon after a swim with Ash:: he chuckles softly through the link.
